Fall Art Show — Honorable Mention

The Danvers Art Association is holding its Fall Art Show of members’ work at their antique 2-room schoolhouse gallery. The work will be exhibited from Friday, September 21 until Sunday, September 30. The opening reception will be held on Friday, September 21 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and all are welcome.

My entry into the show is “Knowles’ Landing”, a 16″ x 20″ acrylic painting of Stubby Knowles’ Landing in Gloucester, MA. It was painted en plein air on a gorgeous summer day when Tom and I just happened upon this lovely site. We must have driven by it scores of times over the years, but it is slightly hidden away and it was the first time we noticed the driveway. Tom sat in the shade and read his mystery novel while I painted; and the two egrets really landed while we were there!

I am happy to announce that my painting was awarded an Honorable Mention by the judge.

Danvers Art Association’s gallery is open Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.  It is located right on Route 62 at 105 Elliot Street, Danvers, MA; and there is plenty of free parking.
