Sail Boston 2017
Sail Boston is hosting ships from all over the world, as well as artisans, music and many other activities on June 17 and 18, 2017. The Grand Parade of Sail will highlight the day’s activities. Led by the USCGC Eagle, “America’s Tall Ship,” vessels will parade in flotillas from Broad Sound into the main channel of Boston Harbor, along the Boston waterfront, turning at Charlestown, before proceeding to their assigned berthing areas.
I was invited to paint figure heads as one of the Maritime Craft Artisans stationed at Charlestown Navy Yard as part of the festivities. My tent will be located on Pier 2 with a perfect view of the tall ships’ parade. There will also be artisans working on scrimshaw, knots, sign painting, boat building, custom sail and spar, and trunnel making.
The best landside viewing locations will be from Castle Island, the Seaport District, the Downtown Waterfront, the North End, Charlestown and East Boston.

All of the submissions can be viewed at the Danvers Places Show will be held June 17 and 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 105 Elliot St., Rte. 62, Danvers. Lots of free parking is available.
Gallery 62 at the DAA is also open with lots of one-of-a-kind paintings, prints, cards, ceramics, jewelry, textiles, gifts, etc. Many of my paintings, prints and cards are available at the gallery.
