The Marblehead Arts Association is once again hosting the popular Pieces of Eight Exhibit in its gallery. Artist members were given identical 8″ x 8″ gallery wrapped canvases and told to create! The pieces are hung together almost like a patchwork quilt and include paintings in oil, acrylic and watercolor, drawings, prints, photos….whatever each artist was inspired to do. It is amazing to see the different artists’ visions all displayed together. Both are balmy summer views, nice to remember on these cold days.
My two contributions to the show are both acrylic paintings of beautiful Marblehead inspired by two of my plein air paintings. One is an autumn skyline including lovely Abbot Hall as viewed from Crocker Park. The other is a view of Marblehead Light as seen from Fort Sewall.
Sale of these small paintings will benefit the Marblehead Arts Association. The MAA gallery is located at Hooper Mansion, 8 Hooper Street, Marblehead, MA. Tel: (781) 631-2608
