Galleries at Lynn Arts (GALA) are throwing wide their doors for the opening reception of the Fall Member Showcase on Friday, November 3, 2023. The party starts at 5:30 and keeps going until 7:30. Check out their website www.galleries@lynnarts.org for more viewing times.
The members were invited to bring their best work, enough to fill a 36″ x 36″ space. I opted to bring two paintings: Starship Tripper (shown) is a small acrylic on stretched canvas, 11″ x 14″ showing some little green visitors to our moon with a lovely view of planet Earth in their sky.
The second painting is closer to home — a night time view of King’s Beach titled King’s Beach Lights. I was driving along and saw the gentle, white-edged waves rolling to shore with lacy white edges shining under a very dark sky. The only light in the painting comes from the automobile lights, house windows, and street lights.
