Galleries at Lynn Arts is kicking off the springtime with an art opening and reception Friday, April 5, 2024 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at their beautiful location, 25 Exchange Street, Lynn, MA. Galleries at Lynn Arts
The reception is for the Nature Exhibit which runs from April 5 until May 8, 2024. The reception will be a celebration of nature and growth and all wonderful things. Artist members have been asked to submit work which speaks to the season. The reception will feature fun and food. A five dollar donation is requested to help GALA cover the cost of the all-volunteer association.
I am so happy that two of my pieces have been juried into the show:
Wildflowers is a black and white photograph developed in the darkroom, old school! The photo was taken while I was taking a stroll in the local woods and I was drawn to the contrasts of dark and light, soft and prickly, smooth and textured. The photo measures 11″ x 13″ matted framed and is priced at $150.
My second creation in the exhibit is Cattail Sunrise which was inspired by the shrinking number of places where we can see our native cattails growing. They used to be everywhere, but are now being squeezed out by invasive species. I was lucky to come across this lovely pond where cattails still grow. The piece is done in muted tones, pastel on medium gray toothed paper and measures 18×24″ framed, $150.
It is wonderful to live amidst so much inspiring natural beauty!
